  • Renovation of El Cerrito Vista Park- To commemorate Rotary's 100th birthday and our club's 55th birthday members renovated the baseball diamond at El Cerrito Vista Park. Leading the project were members Marvin Collins, Jim Spain, Larry Sanchez and the Sherwin Williams Paint Company.
Rotary members repainted and/or replaced the baseball diamond backstop, the dugouts, bleachers and concession building. A new memorial and sign listing the club's International and local projects and recognizing the club's Presidents since 1950 was also placed at the location.

  • El Cerrito City Fair - The Rotary Club and the Interact Club (high school students in Rotary) have organized El Cerrito’s 4th of July Celebration every year for the last 10 years. In 2004 the event featured carnival style games, a petting zoo, pony ride, food booths, vibrant World music, crafts, clothes and music for sale and a climbing wall. The celebration is ideal for families and gets bigger and better every year. This is a major fundraiser for the club and supports our charitable donations.

  • Read Aloud Program - In 2004 we are supporting the Read Aloud Program , a local charitable group who go to the grade schools in the area and read to the children to help them with their learning skills and to better perfect their English.

  • Project Reach - We have been a long time supporter of Project Reach a program to help underprivileged kids to go on outings and trips in the Bay Area.

  • Toy Program - In 2004 we will continue our support of the Toy Program in conjunction with the El Cerrito and Richmond Fire departments.
