Today’s Program: Michael D introduced today’s speaker Ron Carino a coach for the Team in Training (TNT) organization. TNT is one of the main fundraising arms for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This great organization has raised over one billion dollars since its inception. During that time the survivable rate for people with these types of blood cancer has improved from 4% to over 80% today. TNT offers a great way for people who want to do physical activity while doing something great to fight cancer. TNT is the largest sport training program that involves fund raising and doing this great work to fight cancer. Sporting events that TNT offers include: Training for running marathons, bicycling program for 100 miles rides. Triathlon training, walk/run programs, cross country skiing, Iron Team and ultra marathon training. All the TNT coaches are certified and provide a high rate of success for their participants. Ron ended by telling a story of the woman who stand beside the TNT Marathon in Alaska with a sign indicating she is a cancer survivor. She does this from the beginning of the event until it is over, some seven hours. It is these experiences that provide a lot of motivation for the TNT participants. Thanks Ron for a stimulating talk.

Thought for the Week: Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat. --Theodore Roosevelt
