The WheelEditors: Gary Buffon & John Ferguson Jr. Week of October 8st President Tracy welcomed everyone to the Friendly El Cerrito Rotary Club for a special meeting at the Post Meridian Restaurant . Karen provided a thought for the day. Secretary John: had Mark S introduce his guests: wife Cindi and Debra Stevens of the Contra Costa Market place magazine. Andy had his son, Jack as his guest. 4 Way Test Presentation: Mark F did the honors today Announcements: Þ Jack gave an update on Kevin. He is doing well and very business with both ToFuYu and his architect business. Good news, Kevin has Whole Foods as a wholesale client which is making it so he is breaking even on this new business. Þ Jack shared his experience at the Rotary District Conference where he and Carole attended along with Mark and Cindi Scott and Don and Mary Farquharson. Jack told us about his desire to get an outbound exchange student for next year. He and Gary B will go to the Interact meeting next Wed and present to the Interact Club. Þ Blaine reported on the outcome of the blood drive. Twenty eight units of blood were donated. Þ Kathleen gave us an update on the dictionary program. Bottom line is we will be give dictionaries to some of the private schools Þ Gary B reported on the first Youthact meeting being held at Prospect Sierra. This marks the first such meeting in our District. Go Interact Club! Þ Tracy gave an update on the equipment being purchased for the eye clinic Nepal. Almost all of the equipment is on order and it will be arriving in the near future. Happy dollars: Mark F is happy that a BBQ he put on for 800 people turned out well. Mark S is happy about celebrating his anniversary over a three month period and for attending the District Conference. Blaine is happy about the results of the blood drive. Gary B is happy about the support El Cerrito Rotary provides to our Interact club. Marty is happy about his training getting him in shape for his vacation. Paul is happy about his fourth anniversary. Tracy is happy that daughter Sarah won a key role in the CCCT stage play and that her radiation treatments are nearly completed. Sgt at Arms Nancy: Not done today Today’s Program: Robin Low, owner of the Post Meridian said a few words about being pleased with us being there. She reminded us of her presentation last October and reiterated her thoughts about supporting local businesses. We had a great lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere of the establishment. I would encourage people who enjoy the food and ambience to tell others of your experience. Tracy showed Robin the book that will be donated in her honor to a grammar school.
